Rigaer94 has been a self-managed and squatted space since June 1990.

Located in a neighborhood that was part of former East Berlin, the building was left vacant after the fall of the Berlin Wall before it was occupied. Besides being a squat that provides housing, Rigaer94 hosts political discussions, fundraiser events, film screenings, concerts and it houses the autonomous bar Kadterschmiede on the ground floor. Throughout the years, agreed leases, eviction attempts and reoccupations and protests have followed one another. Today, Rigaer94 is once again facing threats of eviction, but it continues to fight for the preservation of its autonomous space.
