(ES) - CSO KikeMur

Avenida de America 109, 50007, Zaragoza, Spain

CSO Kike Mur is a social center established in 2010 through the efforts of a group of young people that occupied the building of the former Torrero prison. A space once used for imprisonment and torture under both dictatorship and democracy was transformed into a cultural hub for the community.

The center aims to provide a free and inclusive space, hosting cultural events including talks, dance classes, exhibitions, film screenings and activist initiatives. The name “Kike Mur” is a tribute to a conscientious objector who died in prison after suffering mistreatment. In this way, the center seeks to oppose all forms of repression, exploitation and abuse that threaten freedom. These values are also reflected in its practice of squatting as a form of political action against capitalism and authoritarianism.
