(AR) - Centro Social Okupado de Laferrere
In January 2001, activities began at this social center, offering recreational workshops for local children, discussion sessions, and screenings of films, documentaries, and children’s movies. With great effort and the support of comrades, friends, and neighbors, La Ferrere created self-managed work cooperatives and a homemade bread business. Today, they continue offering workshops open to the public and maintain a library with abundant materials on social struggles, novels, children’s stories, school texts, some books in Portuguese and English, and a collection of pamphlets and fanzines. They keep working tirelessly to improve the space, promoting artistic activities based on mutual support and cooperative play. They mantain an organic garden, guided by the same principles and respect for the land that feeds us.
