(IT) - Palestra Lupo
Palestra Lupo is a temporary reuse project of a public building that has been abandoned for over twenty years. It is located in Catania, Sicily. They believe that nonprofit social and cultural activities can only take place in public spaces and thrive with minimal support from the administration (free use agreements, utility registration, and shared insurance costs). Palestra Lupo aims to provide space, recognition, and dignity to workers in the social, cultural, and entertainment sectors (including artisans, artists, graphic designers, technicians, press officers, etc.), also through the creation of a permanent discussion table with the administration. The space is reopened to the city, which can freely use it in accordance with the structure’s ethical code and regulations. The care and maintenance of the building are entrusted to its residents and guests.
