(PL) - Collective Przyjaźń
In Warsaw, Poland’s capital, the collective Przyjaźń connects tenants from different buildings and grassroots initiatives within the same neighbourhood.
The community actively works to resolve conflicts between tenants and provides legal support to those facing repression. Since mid-2024, the collective has organized protests and public events while also caring for the historic area through renovations that keep the buildings livable and accessible. Tenants involved in Przyjaźń collectively run a range of self-organized spaces and projects, including a small gym, a freeshop, a food-sharing fridge, a venue, art rooms and workshops, an art market, community gardens, book-sharing shelves, an infoshop, and a local Food Not Bombs initiative.
Przyjaźń collaborates with Kubokawiarnia MIR, a currently squatted café located in the same neighbourhood. The café operates as a social space free from drugs and alcohol, using its income to renovate the building and nearby houses, as well as to fairly compensate musicians and artists. The space is open whenever an event is taking place.
The neighbourhood is open to visitors 24/7.
