(CZ) - Dekonstrukce
Dekonstrukce is a queer collective based in the Czech Republic that brings together young people to create a safe space where they can speak their minds and be heard.
The name Dekonstrukce, which means “Deconstruction,” reflects the group’s commitment to openness and inclusivity. Everyone is welcome, regardless of appearance, identity, education, or background. The collective was formed in response to its members’ personal experiences of being silenced in public spaces. In contrast, Dekonstrukce fosters an environment where people can meet, build friendships, and support one another. The group regularly organizes events focused on feminist, queer, and climate-related topics, offers support to queer people facing difficult situations, and actively collaborates with like-minded collectives.
Dekonstrukce also maintains its own anarchist library and has published a book titled Kvír Anarchismus (“Queer Anarchism”), written by the collective itself. The publication was created in response to the lack of Czech-language literature on the subject. It explores the history of queer anarchism, its philosophical and political foundations, and presents a call to action for the future.
Each year, the collective organizes Anarchist 1 May, a protest against fascism, queerphobia, and other forms of oppression. Without a permanent meeting space, Dekonstrukce operates nomadically, gathering in various locations across Prague and Ostrava.
