(FR) - Bergerie des Malassis

Bergerie des Malassis is a city-farm and community-run “urban pasture” located in the Malassis neighborhood of Bagnolet, established by the association Sors de Terre. What started in 2011 on a vacant lot has grown into a green refuge between concrete towers: a farm-school, public garden and social space all in one.

The farm hosts goats, chickens and other animals, and maintains gardens and green spaces where children, families, and residents of the neighborhood come to interact with nature, discover rural practices in the city, garden, and learn about agriculture and ecology.

More than a simple urban farm, Bergerie des Malassis serves as a social and educational third-space: workshops, community gardening, and regular events enable local inhabitants to reconnect with rural culture, biodiversity and collective life in an often concrete-dominated environment.

Despite pressure from urban redevelopment around the neighborhood, the project remains a powerful statement in favor of accessible green spaces, ecological awareness and community solidarity in the heart of the city.
