(FR) - La Station - Gare des Mines
La Station - Gare des Mines is an independent arts and music hub created by Collectif MU in a former coal depot at Paris’ Porte d’Aubervilliers. Since 2016, it has grown into a vibrant meeting ground for experimental sound, visual arts, and community-led initiatives. Blending venue, studio, and residency space, La Station brings together emerging creators, activist collectives, and local neighbors around an ever-shifting, non-commercial program.
Rooted at the edge of the périphérique, the site embraces the creative margins: underground labels, avant-garde festivals, LGBTQIA+ club nights, and interdisciplinary artistic experiments. Alongside its cultural programming, La Station hosts social projects such as psychological and social support for young exiles, a solidarity kitchen using unsold produce, and a workshop space dedicated to ecological craft and learning.
Organically evolving and community-driven, La Station works to keep open, inclusive, and accessible spaces alive in a rapidly changing urban landscape.
