De Grote Broek
De Grote Broek is a community-ran project combining a living collective, activist offices, venue and social centre in the city centre of Nijmegen. We host volunteer-ran, donation-based events and pride ourselves on non-hierarchical organising. Make this building your own and meet the collectives!
De Klinker
Political café De Klinker is the meeting place of Grote Broek. It is an organic, vegan eatery, where meetings, information evenings and film screenings can take place, and which also houses the anarchist library De Zwarte Uil.
De Klinker is run entirely by volunteers and is a non-profit organization. Any profits are used to support sympathetic causes and projects throughout the country.
During the week, De Klinker is available for meetings, information evenings, events, workshops and film screenings. On Wednesdays, there is the famous Soup Café, often followed by a documentary screening, or an info evening and discussion.
On Saturday afternoons, the day café is open and next to drinks also serves toasted sandwiches, cake, a newspaper or a book from the anarchist library.
Every other Saturday evening, the eatery is open from 6:30 p.m., and an affordable meal is served at 7:00 p.m, often hosted by a sister organization or collective.
Library De Zwarte Uil
The anarchist library De Zwarte Uil (‘The Black Owl’) is opened on every Saturday during the Dagcafé in De Klinker from 12:00 to 16:00.
The library has a wide variety of books. For newcomers who want to learn more about anarchism there are several introductory books, and for advanced readers a wide selection of books is also available.
From the more in-depth theory of anarchism to topics such as imperialism, capitalism, the history of the Netherlands, the many libertarian movements around the world and throughout history, ecology, gender struggle, do-it-yourself, music, films, pamphlets on how to organize yourself, and various newspapers and magazines with reflections on current developments.
Here you can find radical information about what that other world—the one you've always wanted—could look like. Come by and have a chat.

Extrapool
Extrapool is a stage and production house that is active in three fields: sound, art, and print. Extrapool offers space for sound art, performance art, short exhibitions, and raw print work (stencil printing workshop Knust) of the highest quality, for both the Dutch market, and beyond. In addition, performances, workshops, film screenings, and lectures take place on a regular basis.
The programming focuses on new artists without an extensive distribution network and artists who operate in the borderland of art. Extrapool offers the opportunity to experiment, even if it means failure; there is plenty of room for personal interpretation and creativity. A characteristic feature of Extrapool's programming is the playful, striking context in a changeable space. On the one hand informal and intimate, on the other hand outspoken and artistic.

Straatmensen
Our most important work is our meal project in which we aim to provide our guests, 15-20 per evening, with a hot meal, a substantial packed lunch for the next day, a cup of coffee or tea with a snack, clothing and blankets, a cigarette, and a listening ear.
We easily distribute a few thousand meals per year. This requires a lot of work behind the scenes; groceries are purchased, meals are cooked, packed lunches are prepared on site (to order), we have our own space to maintain, where the clothing is collected and our refrigerator, freezer, and coffee machine are located, we offer places for social interns from secondary schools; and all of this has to be organized in a clear and comprehensive schedule. And all of this with only a few dozen part-time volunteers.
Foodcoop the Voko
Many people would like to buy environmentally friendly food, but the generally higher price of organic products is often an obstacle. De VOKO is a solution. If you are a member of De VOKO, you can buy affordable, sustainable, and organic products.
De VOKO stands for ‘Food Cooperative’ and is a type of store where, as a member, you can buy affordable organic and sustainable products. Because De VOKO is a non-profit organization and purchases directly from wholesalers, the products can be offered at low prices. The objective of VOKO is to make organic products affordable for everyone and to increase people's awareness of where their food comes from.
Stichting Gast
Stichting Gast helps asylum seekers in Nijmegen and the surrounding area who are in need. These refugees have exhausted all legal remedies but cannot or dare not return home. Often, they still have a realistic chance of obtaining a residence permit. Nevertheless, the Dutch government abandons them.
The government puts refugees who have exhausted all legal remedies, often sick or traumatized, on the street without facilities, without prospects. Stichting Gast helps these people with medical, social, and legal assistance. In addition, we can provide food, living expenses, and a roof over their heads.
At the same time, we advocate for a humane asylum policy. Stichting Gast does not receive any government subsidies and is therefore dependent on donations and the efforts of volunteers.

Radical Collective Queer Nijmegen
RCQN is more than just a space, we strive to be a community that belongs to all of us. Whether you’re struggling with housing, need access to healthcare, navigating legal systems, seeking a safe way home at night, or simply searching for a queer space to call home, you are not alone. This space exists so no one has to face challenges on their own. We’ve all been there, and that’s why we come together—to create the support network we all need and deserve.
At RCQN, we believe resistance and joy can live side by side. A true revolt isn’t complete without celebration and freedom. That’s why we’re dedicated to creating a consistent third space—a stronghold where queer people can connect, grow, and thrive through exciting activities, meaningful actions, and unforgettable parties.
Intolerance has no place here. That means zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, or other forms of intolerance. We queers take care of each other because we understand the strength and resilience that come from standing together.
This community’s strength lies in its people. If you’re ready to get involved and help us grow, we would love for you to join us. Come to our next meetup and be part of shaping the future of RCQN.
