Three steaks for the price of two

Most supermarkets offer products for cheap. Every week new actions, new bargains, new juicy slogans to lure people to the shop. It seems normal, but it isn’t! These cheap prices actually have a big effect on the people and farmers producing the food as well as on our planet. Farmers are forced to produce as cheap as possible, resulting in using horrible toxics, monoculture and lots of other damage that consumers don’t  pay for when buying products in supermarkets. This planetary looting is a serious problem, irresponsible behavior!

A foundation called True Price came up with the idea to start making people aware of what products should actually cost, if we would repair the damage that is caused.
De Aanzet, a small shop in Amsterdam is their pilot project.

Of course it is not realistic for everyone to buy at a shop like De Aanzet. Many people already have a hard time being able to afford ‘cheap’ supermarkets.
Would it be a crazy idea to ask our politicians to open their eyes and get active in changing this situation?
