What happens when you listen to music?
In a time where music is easily accessible and available everywhere we go, you are invited to sit down with us and really hear and feel the music, without distractions.
Each session a musician, collector or DJ makes a personal selection of pieces for that evening. Through the stories and by listening with an open mind, we will experience something new. We're creating an open and inviting environment that brings you in a different state of listening. A high quality sound-system will bring the music in all its depth and detail.
Afterwards you can share your experience with one another at the bar.
For the first session of ‘de Luistersalon’, Afghan-Dutch artist Haron will make a selection of tracks.
Whether it is the music he produces or the music he curates, it's bound to be a journey. Last year saw him release ‘Wandelaar’, a meandering and mesmerising ambient album. On podcasts, his selections come from far and wide corners of the musical landscape.
It will be interesting to learn more about Haron and the choices for his selection of music.
Rolinde Hoorntje will moderate the evening. She is author and journalist for NRC. For three years she wrote columns for this newspaper about electronic music and the club scene. She wrote books like the dance encyclopedia Mary Go Wild and books about night club Trouw and Awakenings. In 2017 her debut novel “De Club” was published.
She is the perfect moderator for de Luistersalon with her background as a music journalist and her deep interest in (sub)culture.
Doors open: 19:30.
Entrance by donation (min. €2)
