Ex-tempore is an evolving audiovisual project that brings together digital artists, experimental filmmakers, musicians and performers to explore the living intersection between sound and light, rendering transient interactions bound to the present moment. The series of events actively experiments with diverse formats, including live audio-visual reactions, live microscopy, classical avant-garde cinema, and contemporary film premieres as well as musical performances. For its fifth edition, ex-tempore relocates to the beautiful spaces of Ventilator Cinema.

ACT I:
Ampio appartamento in palazzo di pregio - The building Site Directed by Tito Puglielli and Tiziano Locci
Live scored by Ignacio Pintó (Double Bass)
In the historic centre of Palermo, another Italian city ravaged by overtourism, two filmmakers document a liminal moment in the life of a noble palace falling into ruin, where they live alongside other castaways of a city facing extinction, between the end of a centuries-long glorious decline and the beginning of a treacherous rebirth.
1:10H 18:30 - 19:30
ACT II:
Fax & Circumstances Directed by Emma Ajdari and Ellev Derks
Live scored by Pim Piet
Fax & Circumstances is a legal-sci-fi TV drama in which Emmy and Ally, two paralegals working in migration procedures, are set in an absurd and surreal work environment where the logics of TV, Law, and feminization are seemingly merged. The episodes follow their attempts to bring an alien into the Union, procedurally. The episodes also trace the girls’ attempts at self-regulation and life management, and the failure, pathos, and wit that follows along. Turns out we don’t only regulate the other through violent legal abstraction; we are also constantly and relentlessly constraining the otherness in ourselves in order to submit our bodies into symbolic, sellable utility. The show explores this vertical political relation and how serialization can be something else than seamless ideological continuity. The latter not only through TV, but also legally, psychically and physically. It is in the gaps, cuts, and errors where possibly... something Real can emerge...!
1H 20:10 - 21:10
ACT III:
Coordinate-disordinate Archival video collection of Beatrice Indelicato
Live sounds by Setteveli ensemble
Digging through memories and finding nothing meaningful. Continuing to search for clues of the past and the future, out in the streets. Feeling at ease in cemeteries, wandering through friends’ nighttime dreams. Wondering how stones, volcanoes and animals think. Looking at seemingly voiceless subjects, and letting them have all the words in place of human beings. To keep filming, as if something might eventually come into view.
