Jazz at A Lab #13 - Frits Steeghs Carte Blanche
Line up: Frits Steeghs - drums, Evan van der Feen - piano, Siebren Smink - gitaar, Samuel Kiel - bas

Come to A Lab to discover emerging talent in the jazz scene. During our monthly Jazz at A Lab concerts up-and-coming musicians take the stage to deliver stellar performances. This time, Frits Steeghs Carte Blanche brings a melting pot of shoegaze, folk, punk, avant-garde, and electronic music.

Frits originally brought together fellow musicians Evan van der Feen, Siebren Smink, and Samuel Kiel to explore what shoegaze would sound like when performed by jazz-trained musicians.

What could have been a natural disaster became a big melting pot of different musical styles, bound by a love for breaking convention. Ignoring traditions and stealing ettiquete from all sorts of styles such as shoegaze, folk, punk, avant-garde, and electronic music.

Join us in the RBG Studio at A Lab (next to Tolhuistuin and A'DAM Tower) for a drink, good company, and the latest in new music. Admission is free, though donations for the musicians are, of course, greatly appreciated. An initiative by Floris Kappeyne and Tijs Klaassen.
