Every 3rd Wednesday films about housing, housing rights- and struggles, and about how things can be done differently. Gardens of Fez takes us to the enclosed courtyards of the old city. With a fountain at their center, they once symbolised natural abundance and the thriving culture of the Royal City of Fez, Morocco’s former capital. Today, many of these gardens lie abandoned, the result of modern lifestyles, pollution, and the neglect of traditional water systems. Yet, even as they slowly turn to ruin, their presence in daily life remains unmistakable.

Gardens of Fez is een filmisch onderzoek  naar de verdwijnende tuinen van de stad Fez: een architect, een leraar, een tuinman, een dichter en een danse­res zijn gids. Architect Rachid legt het verborgen netwerk van waterwegen en bronnen bloot dat Fez heeft gevormd, lerares Rajae schrijft er een toneelstuk over, terwijl tuinman Sidi Azzouz zorgt voor een van de overgebleven tuinen...
