last year's event with Refuge Worldwide was a beautiful highlight, so it only made sense to work together again this year. saturday 24th, two crews coming together to celebrate their love for sound system culture, working together with some of our favourite artists. event is from 16h to 00h, and we will serve food too!
on sunday we organise a cozy community chill out in the afternoon from 13h to 20h, with some homemade food, music from people close to pos, a gathering amidst the storm :)
on saturday, you'll hear music from:
adam cooke
a dublin native who now calls Berlin home, Adam brings a diverse musical background to his performances. from being raised on everything from classical and choral music to blues, jazz, and soul, Adam's musical upbringing was a melting pot of influences from both sides of the family.
andy is an amsterdam-based dj and active at possibilities open studio (pos), a community-rooted DIY art and culture space. as projects lead, she connects the dots, programming, community, and the people that make it move. more living room than venue, pos brings together scenes, collectives and ideas through music, sound, and community care.
as a dj, she moves fluidly across tempos, genres, and textures, ancient and modern, primal, deeply felt. her sets hold the collective and challenge the individual, moving you in ways you didn’t expect, leaving something in the body. eclectic, fearless, and alive with purpose, psychedelic, groove-driven and rooted in the low-end.
no plastic b2b powerglass
george patrick (aka no plastic) is a co-founder of refuge worldwide - a radio station, cultural platform and event space in berlin. originally from glasgow, he has been involved in curation and creative organisation since 2008. george is now responsible for refuge worldwide’s day-to-day life as a broadcaster, educational hub and music archive. under the no plastic alias, he collects everything from dub and disco 7’s all the way through to jukebox classics.
rooted in the love of sound system and its culture, powerglass brings a playful energy to his selection, dub siren and echo pedals never very far. as an important player in the creation of possibilities of sound, his music always seems to come back to the simple reasons of why we enjoy music: coming together, sharing space and moving as one.
lulà luna b2b special guest
as a dj, lulà kuna navigates between space and pressure, grounded in earth's energy or floating away. with the sound system at the core of her practice, she moves from low end and percussion into spacious, organic soundscapes, with dub and psychedelia at the core of how she treats sound: stretching space, bending rhythm, letting texture lead.
beyond the booth, she works across curation, production and media making, most notably through possibilities open studio, a community-run space and sound system she helps shape.
his sets draw from the sonic innovations of jamaican and uk sound system culture, using the heavy basslines and spatial effects of dub to guide his blend of house and techno. it creates an introspective spirit on the dancefloor, where a rolling groove, warm atmospherics and steady pace lock you in.
ojoo is a brussels-based, moroccan-born musician, selector and organiser whose work hits where sound, politics and community collide, all shaped by mighty physical bass weight.
they’re part of psst, an intersectional feminist collective, and co-builder of the pssound system, a fully diy rig built from the ground up by and for marginalised genders. not a flex, but an act of resistance. plywood, wires, community.
raised on bootleg cd culture and shaped by constraint, ojoo found their voice in the pressure zones between dubplate and distortion. no clean lines, no polite transitions. just raw blends, concrete rhythms, sirens, and silence.
