Anna’s Tuin & Ruigte presents a film and conversation on land and resistance: Seeds of Dignity by Ali Alsheikh Khedr (2025 - Lebanon, Iraq, France - 30’ - EN subtitles) & an excerpt from Permaculture in Times of War – Stories from Lebanon and Palestine with Alfred Decker, Yara Ward & Boulos Saad (2026).

Seeds of Dignity is a poetic, grassroots documentary about farmers and seed activists in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Amid conflict, economic collapse and displacement, they preserve and share traditional seeds to reclaim food sovereignty and reduce dependence on global trade, large seed companies and industrial agriculture.

In Permaculture in Times of War, practitioners from Lebanon and Palestine discuss how caring for land, growing food and strengthening communities can foster resilience, resistance and hope.

Afterwards, we’ll discuss seeds, biodiversity, access to land, community food production, independence and dignity. Moderator: Kalliope Bournia.
