In a bucolic American town, nature watches ambivalently as an unnamed man commits a murder. He goes through the mundane tasks necessary to cover up his crime, and with each step loses connection with his own humanity. Told in just 44 shots with no on-screen dialogue, Heavy is an examination of the dehumanization that takes place when someone numbs themselves into justifying evil actions, and the habitual rationalization that allows society to continue down a path of malevolence in the name of self-preservation.
