This edition of Sundried Understandings brings together mutiple artists with Authentic Voices Africa and Nanna Peggy

Authentic Voices Africa (AVA) is a Ugandan cultural and artistic collective founded by Benzima Onzima and Dominic Claire in 2020. They fuse ancestral sound, ritual movement, indigenous chants and futuristic electronics into multi-sensory performances rooted in traditions and heritage along the River Nile. After their debut at Nyege Nyege Festival, they’re coming to Europe — and we’re happy to host them at OCCII.

Nanna Peggy is the mysterious alias of producer and songwriter Lewis Murray, whose music has long been kept on the down low. His unique falsetto, chopped samples and MPC recordings create a dreamy experience somewhere between intimate and otherworldly. After years of rare appearances in the UK, this will be his first performance outside the UK.

Sundried Understandings administrator Spooky-J and visual mastermind DJ Turbo 2000 will take care of the intermissions with their deep-dug cuts and selections for the evening.
