Join us for this movie screening and Q&A with movie's director Connor Sen Warnick.

New York City, 1971. Characters Disappearing transposes an elliptical, intertwining narrative structure into a historical context informed by the Asian American Movement. Though the film may be set in 1971, it reflects a world that exists in an era of it's own autonomous design - neither then nor now, yet suggestive of both. The political, spiritual, and corporeal agendas of Mei, Chris, and Leonard intersect within a melancholic vision of the Asian American Movement. Characters Disappearing is a portrait of a Chinatown rarely seen, where bursts of unexplained violence and spectral figures co-exist with the promise, and fragility, of multi-ethnic solidarities.

Directed by Connor Sen Warnick, who is a filmmaker, artist, and writer based in NYC's Chinatown. Previous work has been featured in The New York Times and exhibited / screened at the Guggenheim Museum, Anthology Film Archives, Metrograph, and CAAM fest, among other venues.
