In Confluence, the neoclassical piano sounds of Koen Visser merge with the electronic ambient soundscapes of Roman Willems into a unified whole. After 15 years, the childhood friends reunited through music: the album was recorded in a single day, entirely improvised in the studio. Confluence portrays a journey filled with suspense and melancholy, in which two worlds slowly move toward each other and ultimately converge.

Roman Willems is an artist who creates electronic and ambient music and works with self-built instruments. In his work, he explores the relationship between analog and digital sound, striking a balance between composition and improvisation. Through his project Environments, he developed his own instrument, which forms the basis for his current approach and is also featured in Confluence, a collaboration with pianist Koen Visser.

Koen Visser is a neoclassical pianist and composer. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he taught himself to improvise and compose. In his music, which can be described as melancholic, meditative, and minimalist, he expresses emotions that cannot be put into words. After years of releasing his own music and performing solo concerts, he is embarking on a new musical path in Confluence, together with Roman Willems.
