Plantage Doklaan 8-12, a cultural building with activists, craftsmen, musicians and artists, presents a wealth of expertise, experience and talent present in the building.
We turn the building inside out, starting with moderated conversations between different Dokkers, from activists to artists. Afterwards, music and alternative tours where you get to know the building from different perspectives. 14 open studios to walk in on this special day. Small concerts, performances and mini workshops for everyone to participate, from young to old!
The MEGA open podium in the Dokzaal gives the Dokkers a chance to show themselves through music, dance and art performances. There will be snacks and drinks by Chef Lips on donation, with proceeds going to Gaza.
We conclude with an invigorating performance by the band Hondenfokker, by one of our newest Dokkers Sara Elzinga. All in all, a Sunday afternoon full of activities, where we open a book about a special, alternative and free space in Amsterdam, to demonstrate why these collectives are so incredibly important for the city.

Moderated talks with the Dokkers on several topics: What does it mean to be a free space? How does democracy function in such a place? How does the Doklaan shape solidarity? This part of the day is organized by Lino Hellings, who in preparation for the festival has had several individual talks the past months with people from the collective to gather stories.
Allen Haim and Neske Baerwaldt will play together with a violin that wails and weeps, an accordion like an old shoe, with a scorpion hidden deep, a tale of triumph and woe, to chase the spiders that bite you in your sleep.
Lino Hellings/photo press agency PAPA will also give a short lecture about her own projects, titled ‘The myth of freedom in the West’, connected to her exhibition in the cafe.
Vincent de Jong/All Included will talk about striking examples from his consultation practice, about clashing value systems between the paperless and himself. What can be learned from there?
Linda Coenen will present, together with Jutta Hinterleiter, ‘Democracy in practice’, explaining with 3 interactive models how the Plantage Dok is put together. She worked together with three artists from the Dok to make these: Alex Winters, Annelinde de Jong and Daan Simons.
