Based in the Oud-West, the old Wilhelmina Gasthuis building is now home to atelierWG, a complex of artist studios, puntWG, an interdisciplinary exhibition space, and an artist in residence program called airWG.
The AtelierWG Foundation was established in 1989, and houses 120 artist studios. Following the relocation of the hospital in 1984 to what is now the Academic Medical Center, artists, small business owners and residents have shaped and preserved the unique character of the WG terrein ever since.
AirWG and puntWG run open calls for artists wanting to collaborate or seek a temporary base in Amsterdam. The boards of all three associations are also made of volunteers, and are always open for assistance from interested individuals.
