Line up: Phantasmagoric animation, music videos, found footage experiments, all on 16mm or 35mm film
Filmhuis Cavia, in partnership with the Association of Moving Image Archivists Student Chapter at the University of Amsterdam, presents the films of Martha Colburn in a free public exhibition plus a Q&A with the artist. The screening will cover 25 years of Colburn's past work on 35mm, 16mm and video, featuring phantasmagoric animation, music videos, and found footage experiments never before shown in the Netherlands.
Martha Colburn's films will be seen this year at the Sundance Film Festival (in collaboration with the performance artist ‘Narcissister’). Her newest, Western Wild…or How I Found Wanderlust and Met Old Shatterhand will premiere at the 2018 Rotterdam International Film Festival with a live performance with Jeroen Kimmans’ ‘Orquesta del Tiempo Perdido’.
