Our world is changing, and not for the better. The global events over this past year have caused much grief, mourning, and rage. From genocide unfolding in front of our eyes, to climate emergencies and the creep of the far-right into the mainstream all over Europe and beyond. We need strong resistances now. How can we stay strong and steadfast in times of unrest and distress?
We need community, support, and mutual aid as much as ever before. Let us bring together the threads of our hope, knowledges, and skills, to weave a resilient resistance against the powers that seek to dismantle our communities and repress our struggles.
In the evening of the 1st of March, after a full day of exchanging radical ideas, strategies and practices, we come together in OT301 to dance and celebrate, and to raise money for Workers for Palestine / student intifada legal costs.
It also happens to be the birthday of one of the festival’s co-organizers, P!
At OT301, we will have a mix of live music and DJs in the studioz space, and a chill / low-stim space at the 4bid gallery space.
The line up is as follows:
22:00 - 22:30: Woody Grooves
22:30 - 23:30: Katayoun
23:30 - 01:00: Disco Arabesquo
01:00 - 02:00: Shexpeer
02:00 - 03:00: Fitgirl
Follows up with energetic synthpop, spitting some critical truths for you to go crazy on.
Disco Arabesquo - Moataz Rageb also known as Disco Arabesquo (@discoarab) is a sociologist, DJ, collector of Arabic cassettes and vinyl. He's known for his sold-out 'Disco Arabesquo Night' parties in Amsterdam. He specializes in Arabic-Western cross-over sounds that portray a creative generation searching for a new identity. He selects Arabic sounds of the 90's & 00's South-West Asia, North Africa and its diaspora and edits, mixes and mashes them up. He has reissued an Egyptian 80's disco compilation called 'Sharayet el disco' & Nagat el Sagira's 'Oyoun el Alb' in collaboration with WeWantSounds. On the eponymous label Disco Arabesquo Records he released the 12' vinyl 'Yallah ya ashab' by the Saudi-Irish DJ Moving Still.
Katayoun, an Amsterdam-based DJ, selector, and curator, researches, preserves, and shares Iran’s sonic history. Her Iranian Music Archives project includes Female Vocalists from Iran and Beyond (2018–present), a radio show exploring diverse genres and eras (1930s–1980s). With Sonic Imaginaries at Kiosk Radio, she expands this work, linking Iran’s sonic heritage to Latin music, jazz fusion, and funk. Her warm, dreamlike sound has taken her from supporting Sevdaliza to performing at festivals, museums, and nightlife events. A natural crowd-mover, she seamlessly blends global sounds into vibrant, border-crossing party sets.
ShexPeer seamlessly blends contemporary and traditional Arabic and other Eastern musical influences, encompassing a diverse range of styles and rhythms that promise to shake up any dance floor.
Fitgirl the boundary bender. No genre*, no gender. Lets put it all in a blender.
