Automatic Noise Festival | Spring edition

Het internationale shoegaze festival ANF is terug in een speciale lente editie, met Svart Ridå (SWE), Sun Mahshene (IE), Attic Ocean (DE) en L'orne (Rotterdam). Een avond vol walls of sound, distortion, etherische vocalen en prachtige noise.

Svart Ridå (SWE) 

Gedurende het afgelopen jaar heeft de uit Malmö afkomstige indie dream rock band Svart Ridå veel lof ontvangen van Zweedse muziek bladen als PSL, en Popmani. De positieve woorden ontvangen ze onder andere voor hun donkere dream pop en explosieve live performance die een steeds groter publiek trekken. Met de release van hun debuutplaat is het duo uitgegroeid tot een trio en hebben ze zich ontwikkeld naar een meer gitaar-based stijl, met duidelijke invleoden uit dream pop.

Sun Mahshene (IE) 

Met hun ontstaan in Dublin in 2018, blies Sun Mahshene nieuw leven in de psych en shoegaze scenes. Ze veroverden de harten van muziekliefhebbers met hun show op Electric Picnic (het grootste muziekfestival van Ierland). De single Reverie (sep. '23) werd meteen opgepikt door onder andere Amazing Radio UK en BBC Radio 1 en geeft een voorproefje van wat de luisteraar te wachten staat op de langverwachte debuut LP A Place We've Never Been.

Attic Ocean (DE)

De vijf leden van Attic Ocean worden verbonden door hun liefde voor sferische en dromerige muziek. Debuutsingle August / Glass leverde de jonge band rondom zanger Hanni veel locale en internationale aandacht op. Gewapend met debuut EP the heavy blue and then after begint de band aan een nieuw muzikaal avontuur - een toewijding aan een nostalgische en melodische sound. De muziek van Attic Ocean wordt vergeleken met bands als Slowdive, The Cranberries en Wolf Alice. 

Met duidelijke roots in de 90s shoegaze en indie, brengt Attic Ocean een frisse wind in de Duitse muziek scene, waarbinnen ze het label 'Germany's dreamiest band' hebben gekregen.

L'orne (Rotterdam)

L'orne is een emotioneel geladen mand die chaotische noise mixt met slowcore en shoegaze. Na een debuut EP in 2022 bracht de band deze maand de eerste single richting hun debuutalbum uit. De plaat belooft nog verdrietiger, zwaarder, dromeriger en sfeervoller te worden.

Svart Ridå (SWE) 

Over the past year, the Malmö based indie dream rock band Svart Ridå, has been praised by several major Swedish musical papers, among others, PSL, Popmani, Hymn, Gaffa, and Sydsvenskan – both for their dark dream pop and their explosive live performances that attract an increasingly larger audience. With the release of their debut album, the duo has become a trio, and the sound has evolved into a more guitar-based style, with noticeable influences from the dream pop sound. 

Sun Mahshene (IE)  

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Sun Mahshene emerged in 2018, breathing new life into the Psych and Shoegaze scenes. Having graced the stage at Electric Picnic, Ireland's largest music festival, Sun Mahshene showcased their live act with headline shows, which solidified their presence in the hearts of music enthusiasts.  September 2023 marked the release of the single "Reverie", which immediately went on rotation on Amazing Radio UK,  BBC Radio 1 and more.  A stirring, shimmering track, “Reverie” gives a glimpse into the sonic odyssey that awaits listeners of the highly anticipated debut LP, "A Place We've Never Been”.

Attic Ocean (DE)

The five members of Attic Ocean are united by their love of spherical and dreamy music. With their debut single "August / Glass", the young band around singer Hanni attracted attention both locally and internationally. With their debut EP "the heavy blue and then after", they are now embarking on a new musical journey - acommitment to a nostalgic and melodic sound. Attic Ocean's sound has already been compared to bands such as Slowdive, Cranberries and Wolf Alice.

On "the heavy blue and then after", Attic Ocean prove why they have been labelled "Germany's dreamiest band": With clearly audible roots in 90s shoegaze and indie, they bring a breath of fresh air to the German music scene.

L'orne (Rotterdam) 

L’orne is an emotionally charged band mixing chaotic noise with soothing slowcore and shoegaze. They released their EP in 2022 and have just release their first single leading towards their debut album. This LP promises to be even sadder, heavier, more dreamy and atmospherical!
