A documentary about the rebellious eighties in the Amsterdam Staatsliedenbuurt, which was a kind of free state where squatters, punks and original local residents together laid down the laws. The authority of the municipality was reduced to almost zero since Mayor Van Thijn was brutally evicted from the neighbourhood at the end of ‘84.
