Old school rock doesn’t ever get old, and lucky for us, New York based Cheena, are a reminder of exactly that. It makes sense that the band is made up of members from NYC’s underground scenes – take Pharmakon‘s Margaret Chardiet or Anasazi’s Keegan Dakkar, for starters. But in lieu of hardcore & noise, the New York which Cheena bring over visits a scene in the past, where references to The Rolling Stones and the New York Dolls are just around the bend. Check out their debut album, Spend the Night With…, and you’ll undoubtedly feel like you’re standing in an old, dusty room, dressed in jeans and a leather jacket.
